Children are a source of abundant inspiration for parents all over the world and that's exactly how the story of kidsme begins. Our Founder and his wife were overjoyed when their son, Edwin, was born. They were committed to being actively engaged parents and strongly believed in giving him the healthiest start in life.
Edwin's father also wanted his son to experience tastes and textures from around the world, to share and foster a love of different cultures. He imagined how wonderful it would be if Edwin could also experience diverse tastes and textures around their own dinner table and wanted to find a way to encourage Edwin’s global palate.
Like most parents though, in helping Edwin make the important transition from milk to solid foods, his father experienced some early frustrations.
Spoon-feeding during mealtimes became challenging and tedious; the risk of choking always present and the traditional, mostly “one-way” spoon-feeding method made Edwin a passive participant in his own feeding process. Edwin's father observed other parents facing similar struggles.
So, utilizing his background as an inventor with more than 30 years of experience in the baby product industry, Edwin's father found a solution and developed the prototype that would later become the kidsme Food Feeder. For the first time, the Food Feeder allowed Edwin to be proactive and self-feed during meal and snack times. Eating became a mutually enjoyable, shared experience as Edwin’s parents watched him explore new flavours and textures at his own pace and leisure. With the Food Feeder, it was easier to introduce fresh tastes and textures to him at an earlier age. They strived to encourage in Edwin an appreciation for nutritious, fresh foods that would only benefit him as he grew, and would create a solid foundation for a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
